The Karman S-115 Ergonomic Wheelchair is a fantastic design. It’s pricey but well worth it, and not to be missed!. Recommended for people with long-term mobility issues in mind. If you have a short-term need for a wheelchair, some other model will probably be a better overall “fit” despite this one’s quality. Do you have a long-term mobility issue? If you do, then it changes what you’re looking for in a wheelchair. After all, if your needs are short-term, most any decent chair will work. However, if you know you’re going to need a mobility aid for months and years to come, then you start getting much more particular and asking hard questions about what you want in a wheelchair.
We understand, which is why if the above describes you, we think you’re going to love our in-depth review of the S-115 Ergonomic Wheelchair.
“Ergonomic” is more than just a buzzword. An ergonomically designed chair is just more comfortable to sit in, and easier to use because everything is exactly where you’d expect to find it. It’s intuitive, and if your needs are long term, that’s pure gold.
There are a lot of wheelchairs on the market. An almost overwhelming number of choices that can lead to analysis paralysis. To help you cut through the clutter, we are here to help so you can make an informed purchasing decision.
By any measure, the S-Ergo-115 is an exceptional model. In fact, it won top honors on our roundup review of the best wheelchairs being sold today. In the sections that follow, we’ll walk you through everything this fantastic chair can do, and let you know about its (very few) limitations so you can decide for yourself if it’s the “right” model for you.

Reviewer: dan d. from helena, mt (caregiver) End User Desc: Not a total wheelchair dependent person but she needs help for outings in the winter because the fall factor is high in MT during the winter. Strengths: Just what I was looking for price wise and ease of transportation. Weaknesses: The biggest disappointment was the push handles are way too short, causing me to have to bend over to push my wife.

Reviewer: michael c. from castro valley, ca (caregiver) End User Desc: 40’s, female with MS. Needs/uses chair when walking will be too much of a burden. Strengths: Price, weight, attractiveness, ease to fold up. Weaknesses: Only complaint so far is it is a bit hard to attach the footrest/leg to chair.

This wheelchair is light, easy to transport and my 90 year old grandmother loves it. A well built machine!

I’m extremely happy with my new wheelchair. I love how light it is, and how the leg rests swing in or out. I use it when I go to the gym and I thought the strap behind my calves would be inconvenient with as often as I get out of the chair for all the various equipment, but it’s not because the leg rests swing in. The chair is super comfortable tosit in for extended periods of time.

I was a little hesitant buying a wheelchair on line, but my 92 year old Dad and I were traveling to a wedding and I knew I needed one for him. Amazon seemed to be the best bet. (Not a lot of time to shop and I live in a small town so the choices are limited at the 2 medical supply stores in town). I did quite a bit of research on the various chairs (including the manufacturer’s web site) and finally settled on this one. It’s Great! Light weight, easy to fold and it fits into the back seat of my compact car. My Dad likes it (comfort) and because of the ease of getting it ready for him uses it instead of his walker when we’re out and about. The only “down” side are the pads. When you are folding it up they tend to get in the way and so we don’t use them all that much since it’s only used for travel. Highly recommend.

I loved this chair! It is light weight, folds easily, and looks so stylish. It’s easy to maneuver through store aisles and doorways. My mom had to get use to its compact size, not because she was uncomfortable in it, but because it was smaller than her larger wheelchair. I wish the front wheels were black with some tread on them. In my opinion, this would make the chair safer; more durable; and would definitely enhance its already classy appearance.

Very light and convenient to use. Reviewer: barbara s. from la verne,, ca End User Desc: I walk with sticks, but use a wheelchair when I have to go long distances. Strengths: It is lightweight and wheels easily. Very portable. Folds into the back of our Prius very nicely. Weaknesses: The pushing ring could be the same size all around. It varies too much to be comfortable when I push it myself

Reviewer: Richard R. from Cartersville, GA (caregiver)
End User Desc: 82-year-old male stroke survivor who is wheelchair bound for the most part.
Strengths: The curved seating (for comfort) and anti-bacterial pad. Ergonomic grips and hand rests. The front wheels do not stick out too much (would be safety hazard otherwise). Removable wheels are great.
Weaknesses: It is a little difficult to fold/collapse to put in car.

My wife has MS. This chair is now two years old and going strong. It has made it through airline handling and will go on more trips. It folds easily and stores in the back of our car. The seat is very comfortable, especially compared to the first wheelchair we had and it is much lighter. The construction is sturdy and it still looks like new. Highly recommended.

Excellent for the right person
Reviewer: Seth R. from Eagan, MN (caregiver)
End User Desc: Small woman, complicated multiple sclerosis, weakness, spasticity but good sensation
Strengths: Lightweight, sturdy, promotes good posture, comfortable without additional seat cushion, folds easily for transport (recommend you look at the video to see how best to fold it)high quality materials, cleaning directions work, no sharp edges when legrests removed, looks good.
Weaknesses: Person using this model must move in and out of wheelchair going forward; side arms are NOT removable and desk length only. (I think other similar models from this company with removable side arms are available.)

This is a really cool wheelchair for a young adult ! I love the S Shape and the Coll Red Color. Also the ease of shopping online for persons with disabilities rather then expensive Medical supply stores ! Also having no pushy salesmen in ivoloved was a huge plus ! A very comfortable way to shop !

I love this chair!
I bought this chair because my old chair was too heavy. I can manage this by myself and can even lift it into my car truck by leaning against the car and lifting it onto the car frame. I put a bath mat on the car and the chair slides right in. I put the brakes on otherwise the chair slides around in the trunk. I don’t consider that it has any cons. I dont think a purchase of this chair would disappoint.

This is simply the best wheelchair I have ever used. I have tried other types and they always had one problem or another. This chair is so comfortable. Because of my diabetes and fatigue, I can’t go anywhere unless I am in a wheelchair and the Karma brand has made life much more enjoyable. The seating does not bother me like other chairs and the frame is very strong and sturdy yet light. I feel good that my love ones do not have to burden with getting me frequent replacements or in storing the chair for me. I recommend this chair highly.
