The ERGO FLIGHT Ergonomic Wheelchair is a fantastic design. It’s pricey but well worth it, and not to be missed!. Recommended for people with long-term mobility issues in mind. If you have a short-term need for a wheelchair, some other model will probably be a better overall “fit” despite this one’s quality. Do you have a long-term mobility issue? If you do, then it changes what you’re looking for in a wheelchair. After all, if your needs are short-term, most any decent chair will work. However, if you know you’re going to need a mobility aid for months and years to come, then you start getting much more particular and asking hard questions about what you want in a wheelchair.
We understand, which is why if the above describes you, we think you’re going to love our in-depth review of the ERGO FLIGHT Ergonomic Wheelchair.
“Ergonomic” is more than just a buzzword. An ergonomically designed chair is just more comfortable to sit in, and easier to use because everything is exactly where you’d expect to find it. It’s intuitive, and if your needs are long term, that’s pure gold.
There are a lot of wheelchairs on the market. An almost overwhelming number of choices that can lead to analysis paralysis. To help you cut through the clutter, we are here to help so you can make an informed purchasing decision.
By any measure, the ERGO FLIGHT is an exceptional model. In fact, it won top honors on our roundup review of the best wheelchairs being sold today. In the sections that follow, we’ll walk you through everything this fantastic chair can do, and let you know about its (very few) limitations so you can decide for yourself if it’s the “right” model for you.

Wheel could be just a little taller so it’s easier to reach. Overall my wife loves it..

The finest wheelchair I have ever seen!I have a wheelchair I received in 1993. It is heavy and I can no longer get parts for it. It is now relegated to sit on while I work on my recumbent trike. I have been using it to care for my wife which is my full time, blessed job. This one is 10 lbs. lighter and folds MUCH smaller. At 82, it is hard to lift in and out of the car trunk. This one is more than twice as easy. It is very comfortable for my wife and it’s operation is much easier. It is not necessary to remove the chair legs to put it in the trunk and there is a lot more room remaining for other things.

Truly ultra lightweight!
This is the lightest weight manual wheelchair I could find. So glad I took a chance and ordered it. It appears to be very well made. My friend will love the hand brakes on it. Since the back folds down I think it will fit in my friend’s small trunk.

I bought this chair for my son with Autism. I chose this model primarily for the hand brakes and the weight. It is super light, easy to transport. The foot rests could be a little more sturdy, but other than that it is a great chair.

This wheelchair is very easy to fold and take along. It fits easily in either the trunk or back seat of our car. My husband has found it easy to push me in it, and he likes the hand brakes. The ride is comfortable. The only drawback is that I find it difficult to wheel myself in this chair. I would recommend this chair to any user who likes to travel, but has a companion to provide the pushing power.

This wheelchair has met every criteria that I set for a wheelchair. No assembly required, very lightweight, yet sturdy. I am so-o-o happy with this purchase!!

End User Desc: age:78.Left side problematic due to two strokes.
Strengths: The light weight is the primary strength. The chair folds into a compact unit. The seat is comfortable.
Weaknesses: The only weakness I can think of is the chair is somewhat more fragile than a steel chair.

This review is from: Karman Ergonomic Wheelchair Ergo Flight with Quick Release Axles in 18 inch Seat, Pearl Silver Frame (Health and Beauty)
I tried a half dozen transport chairs before discovering Karman’s Ergo Flight model–light enough for me to lift (21 pounds including swing-away feet), with large enough rear wheels to allow me to easily PUSH the chair across raised doorway thresholds and over uneven terrain. Similarly sturdy models (all brands) with companion hand brakes weighed 28-33 pounds or more, while other ultralight models (15+ pounds) were too flimsy to negotiate small bumps without constantly turning around and pulling the chair and its passenger backwards. Additionally, Karman’s unique ergonomic seat is genuinely comfortable, unlike the hiney-numbing “sling seat” of most transport chairs. The quality and workmanship of the Karman Ergo Flight, coupled with the terrific features already mentioned, make it well worth the higher price tag; I can’t recommend this chair highly enough!
