Paraplegic veteran wows bride with first dance

Sgt. Joe Johnson, who served in Afghanistan, pulled off a wedding surprise his wife, Michelle, will never forget.

He joined her for their first dance without a wheelchair!

According to WXIN, Joe, 27, suffered a spinal cord injury in a motorcycle accident shortly after returning from overseas. He suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder after serving in Afghanistan and rode motorcycles for the rush.

Joe says he was going too fast on a curvy road. His sunglasses blew off and he wasn’t wearing a helmet.

He is paralyzed from the chest down and confined to a wheelchair. Joe says Michelle was a huge support system for him.

He says that she was there from day one to 100 and never left his side. He added that he couldn’t think of anyone else that he wanted to be with.

Soon after, the couple was engaged!
